I have been into bird-watching for about ten years now and photography for about seven years. Before that I was interested in visual art which probably shows through in the colours and compositions of my bird photography.
I first started noticing birds when I was in the back blocks of industrial Laverton in inner west Melbourne. I started coming across these amazing birds of prey which I never knew existed (at least not so close to a major city).
After I identified a few of the species and started going out more regularly I decided I wanted to show other people what I had been seeing in my binoculars so I bought my first digital camera and things just took off from there.

I have had several exhibitions and have had images of mine selected for the Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica and New Guinea Nature and Landscape Photographer of the year book which is run by the South Australian museum.
I have also provided images to Museum Victoria for their online education website.
I am currently one of the administrators/moderators on Feathersandphotos.com, an Australian Bird watching and photography website.
I use mainly Canon equipment, with most of my images taken with either a 600mm or 400mm lens and my 5D.
I live in Werribee with my four year old son Sam.
